Hello Chapter Members,
We have exciting news and events to share with you! This includes our local events including the Reverse Trade Show, Chapter Awards, and Scholarship Opportunities! Read below for the details.
Chapter Membership Meeting and Workshop: Register for the Friday, September 27, 2024, Chapter Membership Meeting and Workshop. US House of Representative member Ric Keller will provide us with information on two important leadership topics: Leadership Communications and Leading with Civility. Then Carrie Mathes, Orange County Government Procurement Division Manager II, will enlighten us on how we can Expand our Sphere of Influence. The cost for this event for chapter members and non-members is $20.00. Hot lunches will be provided to all that attend in-person. Attendees will be granted 3.5 hours of continuing education credits for NIGP or UPPCC certification/re-certification.
NIGP FORUM Awards:
Our Chapter was honored with the Platinum Seal!! This is the highest standard of excellence which chapters strive to follow and advance the opportunities offered to their members.
Our Chapter was presented with an Outstanding Chapter Award for Professional Development! Our submission was our new Professional Development Opportunities Scholarship Program! The Program initiative allows members the opportunity to “win” a virtual or in person event registration based on established policies and procedures. In 2023, the Chapter awarded 25 Chapter members scholarships through this program! This award acknowledges an outstanding chapter practice with the intent of sharing knowledge with other NIGP chapters.
Congratulations to David Wheeler, Orange County Public Schools, FL, NIGP 2024 Procurement Manager Award Nominee! The Procurement Manager Award recognizes an individual for their exemplary service and outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the entity, the Institute, and the profession.
Congratulations to Orlando County Government, FL winner of NIGP 2024 Agency Advancement Award! The Agency Advancement Award recognizes an agency who has excelled at implementing a procurement-related program or process improvement within their organization.
NIGP FORUM: NIGP FORUM was on August 25-28, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. If you attended, please share your photos, lessons learned, and your favorite moments in our newsletter! Email them to secretary@cfcnigp.org.

Reverse Trade Show: Reverse Trade Show is Friday, November 8, 2024, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Doors open at 7:30 AM (or earlier) for set up.

- Earn more scholarship points for early registration.

- Existing scholarship points can be used for hotel rooms the day before and the day of the event!

2024 Adult Special Event: Our special event is Pirates Dinner Adventure on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 4:30 PM, 6400 Carrier Dr, Orlando, FL 32819. The event is available for 1- or 2-person parties. $34 per person (more than 50% savings!) Registration ended on September 3rd, 2024.
Community Services: CFC NIGP is excited to announce this year’s annual community outreach support and fundraiser has been selected and it is Ronald McDonald House Baking Buddies, Campus of Nemours, located at 6551 Nemours Parkway, Orlando, FL on October 12, 2024, between 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. This opportunity is filled! Thank you so much to those that volunteered to date!
Scholarship Deferment: If you have scholarship dollars, please do not forget to complete the Deferment Survey on our website, www.cfcnigp.org. This survey must be completed by December 15th. You may also choose to use some of your scholarship dollars for our community service initiative! NOTE: If you do not currently have scholarship dollars listed on the scholarship log, you do not need to complete this survey.
